2017 February Student of the Month

The February student of the month brings a positive energy to all that she does. As an athlete, Kylie Nichols brings her expressions of joy and fun to each sport in which she participates. As a four-sport varsity letter winner, Kylie exemplifies hard work, leadership, and positivity. Last year, that hard work paid off when the golf team qualified for the state tournament. Kylie was also recognized with a basketball All-Conference Honorable Mention.
Kylie also uses her leadership skills in activities beyond athletics.  She is a member of the Student Council, National Honor Society, and recently became a senior leader.  She is currently working towards completing her silver cord prior to graduation.  To earn this honor, she has volunteered at a number of organizations including the Special Olympics volleyball program, various sports camps, the Bulldog Ball, Bill Mullins Field Day, and the Ogden Community Legacy Luncheon. Kylie has been recognized for her artwork, earning a judge’s award and a conference art fair award for her creative pieces.
With any free time she has left, Kylie enjoys spending time with friends: shopping, eating, and going to the movies.  Kylie enjoys meeting and interacting with new people which is among the benefits of golf. She can also be found at the Community United Methodist Church where she is a member and volunteers with the Eagle Lake camps held there.
Kylie is the daughter of Troy and Diane Nichols.  A younger brother Ryan and the family dog Shyla round out their family.  Next year, Kylie will attend DMACC with plans to eventually transfer to a larger school.  Once there, she plans to study elementary education or a career in the health occupations.
Kylie’s sense of humor and kindness to others makes her a great role model and a valued member of the OHS student body. Congratulations to February’s Student of the Month, Kylie Nichols!
