2017 December Student of the Month

Jacob Hildreth

Ogden High is proud to present Jacob Hildreth as December Student of the Month. Jacob is an extraordinarily well-balanced and well-loved member of OHS. His character and perseverance are unwavering and he leads and encourages by example. Jacob’s dedication to family, friends, and school makes OHS a better place. That is why Jacob has earned the honor of being OHS Student of the Month.

If you are familiar with OHS, Jacob can be found everywhere. Academically, Jacob is an A-student who has earned honor roll status every semester and will most certainly graduate with High Honors. Taking on such classes as Chemistry, college level Intro to Geography, Statistics, and Calculus demonstrates his desire to make the most of his time at OHS and that he holds his education in high regard. He leads the Computer-Math-Science (CMS) club which has brought virtual reality to OHS and is a member of National Honor Society and a Senior District Leader.

If you attend OHS activities, Jacob can be found playing the trombone in the concert band, marching band, and jazz band. If he is not on stage, you can find him in the crow’s nest assuring the technical needs of concerts and musicals are met without exception. Jacob can also be found on the golf green and baseball diamond. Jacob is truly a young man fully immersed in school.

If you are just around town in Ogden, you may recognize Jacob from his previous position at the Lucky Pig where he may have made your food or welcomed you at the door. Or you may have met Jacob in the last year as he takes care of your financial needs at Vision Bank. Jacob is a young man involved in the community and already taking responsibility for his financial present and future.

Jacob lives with his parents, Tony and Shelby Hildreth, and his sister Josie who is in 8th grade. He is a train enthusiast, enjoys video games, fantasy football, and cheering on the Vikings. He is also a connoisseur of peanut butter and exotic jellies which will serve him well in college.

Jacob’s future plans include attending the University of Northern Iowa to study finance and Management Information Systems (MIS).

Jacob has set his goals high for today and tomorrow. He is a wonderful young man who is fully engaged in life and, though full of joy and humor, should most definitely be taken seriously. OHS is proud to have Jacob as a student, friend, and member of the OHS family.

Congratulations, Jacob, on being named December Student of the Month!
