Four Selected for SCIBA Honor Band
Students perform November 6th in Pella

Five 8th grade students from OMS auditioned on October 9th for SCIBA (South Central Iowa Bandmasters Association) Honor Band. Out of the five that auditioned, three were accepted, as well as one seventh grade student who was nominated. Eighth grade students are required to audition, while their director nominates seventh grade students. Students selected include Amber Breitbarth- Clarinet, Allison Melchert (trumpet) Jill Powers- trombone (all 8th grade), and Zachary Britton- French horn (7th grade). Other students who auditioned were Bailey Alexander and Marissa Elsberry (both flute). The four selected students will perform in the SCIBA Honor Band Festival on November 6th in Pella. The festival will conclude with a 7:00 PM concert at Pella High School.
