November Student of the Month

Congratulations to Jeff Emerson, November Student of the Month! Jeff is the son of John Emerson and Jan Emerson. He has three older brothers, Ben, John, and Adam. Jeff is admired and recognized for his passion for perfection and his kind nature. If anyone is in need, be it staff, student, friend, or community, Jeff is ready to help. Jeff has been involved in many activities while at OHS.
Jeff holds a pretty full schedule with curricular and co-curricular studies. He has been a participant in marching, concert and jazz band, mixed chorus, chamber choir, show choir, church youth group, church choir, National Honor Society, Boy Scouts, large group speech, golf, cross country, CMS Club, Chrysalis and Bulldog Builders. He has been in charge of sound for many OHS and community functions such as concerts, dances, assemblies and theatre. He has been behind the scenes in football and basketball video taping games and keeping stats. His honors and recognitions have included: student council, honor roll, and academic letter. Jeff has also been very active in science participating in Physics Olympics, Science Bowl, Knowledge Bowl, and Science Olympiad.
When Jeff has free time, he enjoys reading, running, drawing,
playing video games, listening to music and bicycling. He and
several friends completed RAGBRAI in 2005, 2006 and 2007. Jeff
recently was named National Merit Commended Scholar for his
academic achievements. As of now, Jeff is undecided about a college
or career. Jeff's positive attitude, willingness to work above and
beyond, and sense of humor make him a student for all to look up
to.
