Four Selected for Orpheus Honor Band

On Tuesday, January 22, four OMS students participated in the Orpheus Middle School Honor Band at Simpson College. These students were nominated by their director, Jana Flook, and rehearsed all day for the event with other students from the south central Iowa region. The students completed a chair audition in the morning, rehearsed during the morning and afternoon, and performed in an evening concert at the Amy Robertson Music Center on the Simpson Campus in Indianola. Students accepted include 8th grade student Marissa Elsberry- flute, and 7th grade students Maddie Diggs- trombone, Derek Friend- trombone, and Jimmy Rubin- tuba.
