Myra Shadel was surely no "chicken" about teaching our fourth-graders about chickens on Tuesday afternoon. Her presentation was a culminating activity for our reading story "Half Chicken."Half Chicken" is a fable about how a vain chicken became the weather vane we now know. She gave a wonderful presentation about how chickens are raised, the different types of chickens-she mainly raised long-horns, and egg laying behaviors of hens. She also had many examples of different eggs for students to observe. Many thanks to Myra for sharing her real world experiences with our fourth grade classes!
