Need A High Quality Picnic Table?
Some of Mr. Hamilton’s Power Mechanics students have finished up their lab work so the next couple of weeks will be spent building picnic tables and working on things in the shop to better accommodate the classes.
We built a couple of picnic tables last spring for the school district and they wanted us to build a couple more this spring for the softball complex. The ones we made last year were of 2 X 4 construction and we were not really pleased with the strength of the legs.
The newly designed picnic tables are of 2 X 6 construction and fastened together with bolts. The tables are 7 feet long and four bigger people could fit easily per side. We have designed the table so that bigger people could easily and comfortably sit at the table.

If you are interested in purchasing a table, the cost is $140 for a table without stain and/or finish. The cost of a table that is stained and finished will depend on the cost of the material used to stain and finish it. There is not a lot of profit at this price but any profits will go to help pay for equipment and tools for the shop.
