The Drafting II and Drafting IV students are working on finishing their House models this Spring. They started the semester by designing a house room by room. They would read about sizes, uses, square footage and the like and then draw rooms 1/4"=1' scale. Once done they organized a floor plan on paper then pro ceded to design on the computer in a program called Chief Architect. This is a high level CAD design software package used by builders and Architects.
Once designed the computer package prints out model plans for the students to then build a scale replica of their house for themselves or their client. This process takes a good deal of time and patience really working on the stud nets very fine motor skills as well as their visualization skills. I have included some photos as well a a link to a slide show well you will be able to see additional photos if you so choose.
