The show choir season kicked off this year during Christmas break with two camp days. Members are really excited for this year's set. They really like the choreography and the songs are great! They continue to have rehearsals throughout the week, sometimes, even after home basketball games. So why are they so dedicated?
"I love the songs this year...and I have the best partner! It's going to be a great season," says sophomore Brandon Brend. They are committed to a high level of excellence that is expected by director Dave Larsen and choreographer Micki Larsen. They work hard to produce the best show that they possibly can.
Besides the members of the actual show choir, a big part of their success and excellence is due to the great show choir band that accompanies them at competitions. These members also put in a considerable amount of time and effort on making the set as good as it can be.
"I'm so excited for this show choir season and I'm really happy to be a part of the band! I think it's going to be a really great year," says bassist, Ally Fillmore. Other members of the band include Elly Adams, Josh Oren, Katie Fillmore, Bronson Mayse, Austin Highland, Brian Good, Maddie Diggs, Logan Runyan, and Jan Emerson.
Their first competition this year is on January 23 at the Johnston Shozam. They will be competing against 4A show choirs from across central Iowa, so they would love to have you cheering them on in the audience!
