April Student of the Month

by Ken Vigdal

April 05, 2010

The OHS April Student of the Month is Crystal Knutson!

Crystal’s primary focus during high school has been on academics. She has been on the Honor Roll every semester while at Ogden High School and has been a member of the Bulldog Academic Achievement club every quarter since her sophomore year. Her main focus has been math and science. During her senior year Crystal became a Certified Nurses Aide through the DMACC program. Crystal has been accepted into the Honors program and the College of Nursing at the University of Iowa and will begin there in August. Her goal is to earn a BSN degree from Iowa. She has a future interest of pursuing additional education to become a nurse anesthetist.

During her free time, Crystal likes to read, watch movies, play video games, and spend time with her friends and family. Crystal has chosen the Susan G. Komen foundation as a cause to support. She participates in the annual races and has assisted with race packet preparation. She has also been involved in preparing and serving food for the homeless through the Church’s United Shelter in Des Moines.

Crystal participated in volleyball during her 9th and 10th grade years and has been a wrestling manager for 4 years.

Crystal Knutson is the daughter of Gwen and Mike Wassenaar of Boone and Mike Knutson of Eagan, Minnesota. Her stepsiblings are Amanda, Emily and Nick Wassenaar.

We take great pride in honoring Crystal as April Student of the Month.
