Congratulations goes out to Janae Oien, Ogden High School May Student of the Month!
Janae brings so much to the school with her academic achievements and her extra-curricular activities. Her academic profile includes Honor Roll, Faculty Award of Merit, National Honor Society, and the Bulldog Academic Achievement Club. While she is busy excelling in her schoolwork, she is also excelling in other activities. She is in basketball, student council, and she made it to state in large group speech in a one-act play. She also received a HOIAC Certificate of Recognition for visual art. As if all that didn’t keep her busy enough, she uses her spare time to work on the 2009-2010 high school yearbook!
Janae excels in community activities also. She is a Bulldog Builder, a member of senior LYF, a Vacation Bible School teacher, a volunteer at the Boone Humane Society, and has donated trees and organized a tree planting for Earth Day!
After graduation she plans getting a B.S. in Environmental Science and Conservation Management from South Dakota State or Western State College. According to Janae, she “has a passion for improving the environment at the community level, and [she] looks forward to bringing [her] education back to help make our place where we live cleaner and saver.”
This remarkable young lady lives near Ogden with her parent Larry and Christine Oien and her sister Rachael, who is a sophomore at OHS.
Again, congratulations to Janae. She makes OHS and the community very proud!
