On June 4, 2010 Howe Elementary students were presented with various awards held by an assembly in the school's gymnasium. Mrs. Haglund recognized the 4th Grade Character Kids for the projects performed during the school year. The May Character Kids presented funds to Florence Nemoe from the Boone Area Humane Society which were raised by baking and selling cookies. Perfect attendance as well as the President's Education Awards (Gold/Silver) were handed out. Mr. Gustafson also received an award of Perfect Attendance for the 2009-2010 school year. After bidding the outgoing 4th graders farewell, Mr. G was presented with a GIGANTIC card signed by all students at Howe Elementary with "We Will Miss You" indicated on the front.
