K-5 Music Makers

Elementary Music & 5th Grade Band

The Ogden Elementary Music Program welcomes students in kindergarten through 5th grade on a joyful, creative journey of musical exploration. Through singing, movement, instruments, and playful discovery, students build foundational skills in rhythm, melody, and musical expression.

In 5th grade, students may choose to join band, where they begin their instrumental journey by learning to play an instrument and perform as part of an ensemble. Band students participate in weekly small-group lessons to develop individual skills and techniques, along with full band rehearsals that emphasize teamwork, music reading, rhythm, and collaboration.

Ogden’s K–5 music program nurtures curiosity, encourages creativity, and ensures every child experiences the FUN of making music—setting the stage for success in middle school, high school, and beyond.
