Supporting Every Student, Every Day
School nursing is a specialized field that blends healthcare, public health, and education to support student success.
At Ogden Community School District, our District Nurse provides individualized care and attention to every student. In a smaller school setting, relationships matter—and our students are known by name, not by number. This allows our District Nurse to build meaningful connections with students and families, understand unique health needs, and respond quickly and thoughtfully.
Through skilled assessment and compassionate care, the District Nurse supports students, families, and staff each day. Responsibilities include overseeing medication administration in accordance with physician orders, coordinating care, making referrals when follow-up is needed, and completing required health screenings to meet state guidelines.
The personalized support available in our district is a true advantage—ensuring students feel safe, cared for, and ready to learn. Our District Nurse plays an essential role in protecting student well-being and helping every Bulldog thrive.

School Immunization Requirements
The State of Iowa has established minimum immunization requirements for students to attend school. These requirements are grounded in Iowa law and align with recommendations from the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). They are designed to help protect the health and safety of children in group learning environments.
Iowa’s immunization requirements apply to all students attending school in the state, including those who are homeschooled.
