2023 January Student of the Month
Ella Keena

It is always a pleasure when we get the opportunity to celebrate a student for the positive impact that they have had on their school, their classmates, their teachers, and their community. We proudly recognize Ella Keenan as our January Student of the Month and celebrate her many successes as a student at Ogden High School.

Ella has set a standard of excellence at Ogden High School that is truly impressive. She has provided leadership and positive energy in multiple areas of our school. In athletics Ella has served the cross country program as a manager, has participated as an athlete in track and field and softball, and has also been a cheerleader for our basketball, football and our competition squads.

In the Arts Ella is a distinguished musician, who has participated in choir and band during her time at OHS, earning Letters in each. She has particularly excelled in instrumental music performing in concert band, marching band, jazz band, and in the pep band.  She has received multiple Division 1 ratings at State solo and ensemble contests and was also a Drum Major during her Senior Marching Band season.

Academically, Ella has been a staple on the OHS Honor Roll, and is currently ranked at the top of the Class of 2023, having maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA for her high school career. She has been a member of Student Council, chairing multiple committees, and has been recognized by many teachers as a student who exemplifies excellence.

In the community Ella has worked as a babysitter, as an employee for Sunstream Retreat Center, and has been a member of the St. John's Catholic Church Youth Group, where she has been an altar server and has participated in a number of volunteer activities that served the community of Ogden.

Perhaps Ella's greatest gift is her brilliant and kind personality, which she shares so generously with all of the people with whom she comes in contact. Her warm smile is all the more evidence needed to prove that. Ella is a young woman who understands how people should treat each other, and she models the kindness and respect that we can all agree is the standard for how we should live together in the world. It is a great honor for us to recognize Ella Keenan as the OHS Student of the Month for January 2023!
