2026 MS Positive Potatoes

March 4, 2026

March 2026

Positive Potato is Ogden Middle School's version of Student of the Month with an extra fun title!  One student is awarded from each grade.  The students are selected by the adults in the building based on these character traits: respect, responsibility, trustworthiness, caring, and always trying to improve. The Positive Potato recipients this month are:

8th Grade: Jordyn Stein

7th Grade: Braysen DeVoogd

6th Grade: Lena Gliem

The students are given a certificate with the educator's feedback for them. Here is just a snapshot of the one the students chose to share:

Jordyn: What a true pleasure it has been to be your teacher for 3 years. You're smart, organized, and your attention to detail is impressive. I love that you’ve discovered reading more than ever. The best part, though, is your heart. You're sweet, kind, and uplifting to your classmates and me. Keep shining, Jordyn! You're a great example to us all! – Mrs. Scholl

Braysen: You are so deserving of this. You are always willing to help anyone that needs it. And you are the first to stay after if I need anything, even without getting a treat! I have watched you grow up and could not be prouder of the young man you are becoming.- Ms.Terri

Lena: You truly are an all around great person--you're friendly, respectful, smart, organized, and now discovering reading more than ever. You aren't afraid to speak up but your quiet example is important too. I love having you in class and can't wait to see all of the exciting things you accomplish in middle school. Keep shining, Lena! – Mrs. Scholl

Thank you to these people and businesses for their support of our amazing young people: Kim McCormick for her stellar crochet skills (each winner receives their very own positive potato with a superhero cape), The Well for their donation of drink coupons, and Ogden Fareway for their donation of snacks.
