May Student of the Month

Fiona Addy

Ogden High School is thrilled to honor Fiona Addy as our May Student of the Month! Fiona is a kind, thoughtful, and incredibly hard working young woman.  Over the past four years, she has distinguished herself as a brilliant student, musician and performer as well as a supportive and active member of our community.

Fiona enjoys thinking and learning.  She is organized, ready to engage and always willing to help her classmates with tough material. It is no surprise that she has earned a spot on the honor roll all four years of her high school career.  This year, she was admitted to the National Honors Society.

Fiona has certainly left her mark on the Ogden stage. An accomplished singer, dancer, and actor, Fiona received Iowa High School Musical Theatre distinguished performance awards for her leading roles in the last two musicals.  In 2021, she was invited to perform an excerpt of one of her award winning roles at the Des Moines Civic Center, and her performance was aired on IPTV.  A four year member of the speech team, Fiona has performed at State Speech for Poetry, Musical Theatre and Short Film.  This year she was invited to perform at All-State Speech for poetry.

A talented and dedicated musician, Fiona is an important member in all of Ogden’s performing ensembles.  She plays flute and piccolo in Concert Band and Pep Band, piano in Jazz Band and was a drum major this year for Marching Band.  She sings soprano in Chamber Choir, Concert Choir, Jazz Choir, and Show Choir. In addition to her musical contributions, Fiona is able and willing to lead sectionals, or large group rehearsals.  She is always ready to volunteer to help with whatever is needed.

In addition to her musical, performing, and academic commitments, Fiona has played three years of volleyball, two years of softball, and a year of track and basketball.  She works part time at Casey’s and volunteers at the Boone Scenic Railroad and Humane Society.  Fiona is the daughter of Andy and Dana Kent, and John Addy.  Next year she plans to study performing arts at Iowa State University. She has an incredibly bright future ahead of her.  Cheers to Fiona, Ogden High School’s May Student of the Month!
